About

At age 17, Luke Haigh threw a bindle across his shoulder and left the green farming pastures of his home in Devonshire, UK to travel the world.

After some 20+ years, a long stint in Aotearoa/New Zealand and a Kiwi passport later. He now finds himself living bi-coastal between Auckland & Los Angeles.

To help pay for this long and arduous passage he has feigned, faked & pretended - to be a film editor.

Somewhat accidentally he has managed to edit a raft of fine feature films (well eight to be exact). Two of which premiered at Sundance, two at Toronto and another at SXSW.

These include Taika Waititi's Hunt For The Wilderpeople, Daniel Radcliff action comedy Guns Akimbo, Sundance Midnight favourite Turbo Kid, US Netflix Feature Rom-Com The Royal Treatment and most recently, James Bond director Lee Tamahori's pre-colonial New Zealand epic The Convert, starring Guy Pearce.

Unbelievably he’s edited short films that have screened globally at A-list festivals and even won La Semaine de la Critique at Cannes.

He hasn’t just done films though. To add depth to his forgery he has cut literally hundreds of commercials, his specialty is the big kind. Beer ads, car brands, soft drinks – often on a global scale. Many go on to become award winning campaigns, some of which include Grand Prix at Cannes Lions, Clio & D&AD.

He is a long-time collaborator with Damien Shatford (Buscuit Filmworks/Sweetshop), Taika Waititi (Hungry Man), Steve Ayson (MJZ) & Mark Albiston (Merman/Sweetshop) and through his deception they have built up a strong body of work. Most notably with brands UberEATS, Coca-Cola, Sprite, Toyota Hilux, Nike, Lipton, NZ Transport & DB Export Gold.

When not pretending to hit some keys in the edit suite he likes to fire up the pizza oven and hang out with his wife and two dogs at the beach.

Luke is still waiting to be caught out in his ruse.

He is repped commercially by WORK Editorial in the USA & UK, ARC Edit in Australia and available direct for commercials ROW & Long form.

He has British and New Zealand passports and an O-1 visa for work in the USA.
